Charles and I were looking for a companion GSD as well as one that would protect our family, especially the 2 grandchildren (Jennesa 6 & Jordan 2) We couldn’t have made a better choice than coming to Cooperhaus Kennels. Your training style is nothing short of amazing and the follow up sessions you offer to your clients is terrific.  In 4 short months Baron has bonded with our family as if we had been together for years. He is gentle & sensitive with the children & loves to play but when he comes up to Cooperhaus Kennels on his Saturday training sessions he senses where he’s going even before we arrive and can’t wait to get at that agitator! He is obedient, loyal and a great companion and Charles and I wanted you and Calvin to know we would highly recommend your dogs to anyone looking for protection as well as a wonderful canine companion.

We initially sold "Baron" at 9 months old.  After just a couple of months, the person who purchased him contacted us and said he "was told" by another "trainer" that Baron "would never be a protection dog."  We purchased him back and trained him ourselves and he turned out to be a very hard and great working protection dog that fears nothing as you will see in the video below when he takes down Steve, the agitator, on a long distance bite. Look at him in the clips below, just turning 2 years old.  He is now a wonderful family protection dog that is harder than alot of police dogs I've seen.  "Baron" is now proudly owned and worked by Charles and Barbara Miller in San Jose, Ca.   Click on icons below to see video of "Baron" taking down the agitator on a long distance bite.  Sorry for the poor quality, but when the agitator got knocked down, I got concerned and ran closer to have a little more control of the situation.  Despite the quality, I had to include this awesome bite.

I trained my puppy Lucy myself. She did the
basics pretty well and she was a good dog. As
she approached one year old, she became
aggressive to other dogs and even more
distressing, she began lunging at people
and growling at people. I was also pregnant
with my first child. I had to do something.
Luckily a friend of mine told me about
Cooperhaus Kennels.

Lucy attended the "live-in program". After
she completed the program, my husband
and I went to the kennel for our training.
Everyone did very well. Lucy is now a
great dog. She is no longer aggressive
and great around my children. Brent and
his father did a great job with her.

Sincerely,
Michelle F. (San Jose, Ca.)

We have a 100+ pound Black Labrador Retriever puppy  his name is 'Andre the Giant.'
Dre was completely uncontrollable, well at least by me as he out weighs me. After several
failed attempts at training him , I was about to give up. I have two small children and have
not the time nor strength to handle such a wild dog. However my parents had just purchased
a dog from Cooperhaus, and urged me to give their training a try. I was hesitant as Dre
showed no promise of ever being obedient, plus I would never hear the end of spending
that much money on Dre had it not worked. After talking with Brent several times, he assured
me there was no dog he could not train. And he was right. I dropped Dre off at Cooperhaus
December, 2005, and when I picked him up late January, 2006, I was amazed. Dre had become
a perfect gentleman. He was a different dog. He was obedient on and off the leash. Dre is still
a puppy and hyper by nature, but included in the Cooperhaus training is unlimited follow ups.
Had it not been for Cooperhaus I was going to have to give up my dog. Brent did a wonderful
job with Dre, and I highly recommend him. One of the best things about Brent is the bond he
forms with his dogs. Both my dog and my parent's dog love Brent and get extremely excited
every time we make the trip up the hill. Anyone with any doubts can definitely use me as a
reference. I am convinced if Dre can be trained, any dog can. Thank you so very much Brent
for giving Dre a second chance, and proving my husband wrong!!!!

Brent,
I wanted to thank you for the first lesson with Willie.
When I took him to his other class later that morning
after class the instructor asked me if I had been doing
more work with Willie because he listened very well
and seemed to be a different dog. I told him I did.
I was also asked by a couple of other classmates on
what I did with Willie. I mentioned your name and
gave them your number. They may call you.

I even jogged with him last night and he stayed right
along side me and did not even try to go ahead of me.

Brent, thank you again and we will be there on Saturday.

Your training is helping Willie be a better companion.

We would like to thank Cooperhaus Kennels for all their patience and
professionalism when working with "Barny" our Olde English Bulldogge.
The training in obedience he received exceeded our expectations. We
now have a family member that can be taken on trips, in public, and
around other animals. We would highly recommend Cooperhaus Kennels to
all our friends and family for any of there K9 training needs.

Thanks again,
Garcia Family and Barny.

Hi Brent and Calvin,

I have a great story that just happened to me. I was home, dogs were out in back. I hear this commotion that was particularly ferocious from the dogs and I see the man in our side yard holding a shovel up and Klara and Sophie are right up on this guy and I yell through the window to put the shovel down! - (come to find out it is the AT&T man fixing the phone lines) As soon as he puts the shovel down I call off the dogs and they minded superbly.

I asked the man if he was okay.... "Yep but don't know if I can handle my tools now that I am shaking so much" ..HAHAHA. See what great trainers you are! I know if it had been an intruder and I had screamed and given the command, he would have been hurt. Let's hope that never happens. But I am glad to have that comfort.

See you soon
